LATEST - Bad weather leads to changes to Rubery's New Road Queen's Jubilee celebrations

Bromsgrove Editorial 5th Jun, 2022   0

THE ORGANISERS of today’s Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration in Rubery’s New Road have been forced to make changes to the programme on health and safety grounds.

The road closure and outdoor events will no longer go ahead.

There will also be no children’s rides or other events in St Chad’s Park because of slip hazards.

Instead the singers who were due to perform outside the social club are taking centre stage in St Chad’s Church.

The line-up boasts music from the 1950s to the present day, include award-winning singers.

The Met Office has put weather warnings in place for most of the country, including heavy rain, high wind and a risk of thunderstorms.
