Last orders for the limited edition Bromsgrove Royal British Legion Wocka Wocka ale

Bromsgrove Editorial 27th Oct, 2022   0

LAST orders are being called on a limited edition Bromsgrove Royal British Legion Wocka Wocka ale after it’s been flying off the shelves.

Brewed by Upton warren-based Brew61 and Bewdley Brewery, the ale was put on sale in the first week of October, and now only a few bottles are left.

Both breweries had been collaborating on the project since September to raise money for the charity, which is close to their hearts.

Adam Morse was in the Armed Forces before becoming the sales manager at Brew61.

He said: “We have received good feedback on it, and the idea was formed from my own military service background.

“Most service men are proud of their heritage, and to be part of a company involved in something and to give back to a well-worth cause is great.”

With every bottle sold, 15 per cent of the proceeds will be donated to The Poppy Appeal.

The two men behind the development of the Wocka Wocka, Tim Wilkins and Tim Dunkley, decided to pay homage to the military service in more ways than one.

The name of the ale, Wocka Wocka, is a play on words and relates to the Chinook helicopter’s sound.

Then in the ale, Admiral, Challenger, and Chinook hops are used to represent the three parts of the service: the Royal Navy, the Army and the Royal Air Force.

Bottles can be purchased for £3.50 each or £35 for 12 from Brew61 and Bewdley Brewery while stocks last.
