Kind gesture by Rubery's Delhi 45 for customer who could not pay

AN INDIAN takeaway on New Road in Rubery has made a kind-hearted gesture after a customer was unable to pay for her meal.

One of the Delhi 45 delivery drivers dropped off an order worth £33 to a woman in the village and was handed an envelope.

When he got back to the car and opened it, instead of the money he was expecting, there was a handwritten note from the customer, apologising that her bank card was not working.

She explained in the note (below) she was eight months pregnant and new to the area so did not know anyone locally to be able to ask for help, along with that her family were hungry.

She repeatedly apologised and promised she would try to pay the money back.

Delhi 45 Owner Kazi Hussain said: “After reading the note we decided not to pursue the payment and just let her keep the food.

“We felt that, in this situation, the right thing to do was simply help.”
