THERE are now just 75 places left in this year’s Bloodwise Bromsgrove Fun Run which takes place on May 12.
Participants can either take on the 5k or 10k course with both races beginning and ending in Walnut Lane.
The races are run on the road which will be closed for 45 minutes during the events.
The 10k will begin at 11am and the 5k at 11.05am and because the race is ‘chipped’ competitors will be able to tell exactly how long their runs have taken them.
The fun run is organised by Nicole Harris from Bloodwise Bromsgrove and the inaugural one was in 1989, six weeks after Nicole’s son Marc lost his battle with leukaemia.
The first fun run was held at Barnsley Hall and a few years later it was moved to Parkside before finding a new home at Bromsgrove Rugby Club.
As well as the stalls on the day there will be a barbecue, massage available and a bar.
Changing rooms will be available for participants to use.
Last year event raised over £16,000 and it is hoped there will be a similar amount raised this year.
There is a limit of 500 runners and so far 120 have already registered so people wanting to take part are urged to get their applications in quickly.
The entry fee is £15 and once paid the packs will be sent in the next two weeks.
Everyone who takes part will receive a medal.
