Joy for Bromsgrove neighbours after £60,000 People's Postcode Lottery win

TWO BROMSGROVE neighbours are celebrating after scooping £60,000 in the People’s Postcode Lottery.

Kate Ryder, 52, and Audra Colbourne, 56, won the cash when their postcode – B60 3JW – was drawn out on Sunday.

The pair, who are good friends, could not believe they had won £30k each.

When Kate found out she said: “Oh my God – I’ve only won £10 twice and I thought about cancelling it recently but my husband persuaded me not to.

“Now here I am £30,000 richer.”

Kate has Audra to thank for the win as she was the one who convinced her to play.

Audra added: “I’ve played for years and I said to Kate if I won, you’d be devastated so she joined up after that.

“It’s lovely we’ve won together.”

Asked how they would spend the windfall, Audra said: “I think my husband wants some new golf clubs.

“I’m going to have to write a list, I just don’t know what to spend it on. It’s fantastic.”

Kate added: “I’m going to have a holiday.

“And I’m going to take my mum to the Savoy for afternoon tea.

“It’s all very surreal – we’ll be having some champagne to celebrate later.”

People’s Postcode Lottery ambassador Judie McCourt, who broke the news to them, said: “I’ve had a lot of fun in Bromsgrove surprising Audra and Kate with big cheques.

“It was a pleasure to meet them and I’m sure they’ll have a lot of fun celebrating!”

People’s Postcode Lottery costs £10-a-month to play and there are guaranteed winners every day.

People play with their chosen postcode and are automatically entered into all draws.
