A BROMSGROVE student has become one of the youngest ever to conquer the daunting challenge of running the entire length of the United Kingdom, all whilst raising money for charity.
Joe Boardman, an upper sixth form student at Bromsgrove School has accomplished the extraordinary feat of running 1,112 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats to boost the vital work of Cancer Research UK.
Throughout his journey to Scotland, Joe captured the hearts and attention of many, sharing his adventure and experience nationwide.
In addition to his remarkable achievement, Joe has also surpassed his fundraising target of £2,000 for Cancer Research UK, with the total currently standing at just under £3,700.
Reflecting on his journey, Joe said: “It really was an amazing adventure, made all the more exciting by the spontaneity involved.
“Whilst I did no formal training for this, I run regularly. This was something I started during lockdown with my sister and have kept going since. Last year, I ran over a marathon in Scotland just to buy milk from the nearest shop.”
Looking ahead, Joe is eager to embark on his next adventure, as he sets his sights on crossing from New York to Los Angeles on horseback.
