Jez Lowe up next for Bromsgrove Folk Club

Bromsgrove Editorial 22nd Jul, 2018

RENOWNED singer-songwriter Jez Lowe will perform at Bromsgrove Folk Club on Thursday, July 26, writes Rueben Virk.

Jez, whose songs are often performed by other artists, received the awards for ‘best singer’ and ‘best new song’ at the BBC Folk Awards 2015.

He will perform by himself, but is currently working with the BBC’s Radio Ballads and collaborating with other artists in the genre, including Steve Tilston, The Pitmen Poets and the Bad Pennies.

His latest project, released in January, was the publication of his first novel ‘Dillen Doll’, accompanied by a CD, with traditional songs inspired by the story.

The project will see the return of his performances in north-east England and be his main focus until the end of the year.

The show at The Catshill Social Club, starts at 8pm and Jez will be supported by resident band Fairfield.

Admission is £10 for non-members, £8 for members and £4 for under 25s.
