CHILDREN from Jellybabies Nursery came dressed in lots of bright colours today to celebrate Comic Relief.
During the week the children have been learning about the event and some of those helped by the campaign.
Among them were Elida a lively, happy six-year-old who lives with her grandmother Agnes and has cerebral palsy.
Agnes was determined this would not hold back Elida and used to carry her to school every day.
Now, with the help of Feed the Children Malawi, funded by Comic Relief, Elida has a wheelchair and Agnes has learnt how to help her exercise.
The children also had fun with CBeebies favourite ‘Mr Tumble’, finding out about shapes, colours, sizes and new Makaton to use alongside speech.
All children learnt about different families and lifestyles and different needs and brought in £1 donation.
The total raised was £20 which will be forwarded to Comic Relief to help provide safety to families who need support, tackle mental health stigma, take action against domestic abuse and help give children a brighter future.
