Jack's Rubery looking to surprise shoppers on Blue Monday to 'lighten the mood'

Tristan Harris 16th Jan, 2022 Updated: 16th Jan, 2022

A SUPERMARKET in Rubery will be dishing out spot prizes to lucky customers to cheer them up on ‘Blue Monday’ tomorrow.

Jack’s on New Road will be surprising shoppers and lifting their winter blues as they collect their essentials.

Among the prizes will be bunches of flowers, boxes of chocolates and even a bottle of prosecco.

‘Blue Monday’ is billed as the ‘most depressing day of the year’ because of the weather conditions, debt level (from spending during the festive season), time elapsed after Christmas and time taken to break new year’s resolutions. It is also said people have low motivation levels at this time of year.

Mark Hill, store manager at Jack’s Rubery, said: “We hope our surprise prizes will delight Rubery shoppers this Blue Monday.

“We love interacting with the local community and hope that we can bring a smile to people’s faces, lifting those January blues just a little bit!”

Winners will be randomly selected by store colleagues throughout the duration of the store’s opening hours.

Winners will be provided with their prize on the day and products are chosen at random.

Jack’s Rubery opens at 8am tomorrow.
