THE 80th anniversary of the Austin 8 will be celebrated tomorrow at Bromsgrove’s Avoncroft Museum which is gearing up for International Austin Rally.
The event runs from 10.30am until 5.30pm and the venue is expecting at least 20 of the characterful little cars from around the UK and abroad, including saloons, tourers, vans and hopefully the unique Woody Estate from Germany.
The Austin 8, built in Longbridge, was launched in February 1939 and production continued until 1943.
After the war production of the model was restarted and ran until 1948.
Visitors will be able to find out more about the individual vehicles at the rally at the venue between 10.30am and 5.30pm.
The museum’s general admission fees apply.
