TINSELTOWN glamour has arrived in Birmingham’s Rubery district after Hollywood Bowl unveiled its new look centre following a half a million pound refurbishment.
The popular venue, located on Park Way, buffed-up its pins and rolled out the red carpet for guests who were bowled over by the makeover results.
The special VIP launch night saw host ‘Marilyn Monroe’ join families and friends to celebrate in true Hollywood style complete with bowling and bubbles.
To celebrate the refurbishment of the new centre, Hollywood Bowl also invited inspirational local fundraiser and ten pin bowling fan, 11-year-old, Millie Bedford from Bromsgrove and her family to enjoy the celebrations.
Millie, who is one of less than 1,000 around the world to live with a rare genetic syndrome called Wiedemann-Steiner Syndrome, joined ‘Marilyn Monroe’ to cut the ribbon to officially relaunch the revamped centre.
Millie’s mum, Charlotte Bedford, said: “We were absolutely over the moon when Hollywood Bowl invited Millie and the rest of the family to this event.
“Millie loves bowling and she is a real people person, so loved meeting the team and guests.
“She had a really great time with Marilyn and we already know that she will be speaking about this evening for the rest of the year!”
Now a latest generation Hollywood Bowl centre, Rubery’s makeover saw the upgrade of its 26 lanes, including four VIP lanes decked out in plush furnishings, a state-of-the-art scoring system and Hollywood décor to allow for the real star treatment at this iconic venue.
Mark Hickey, Centre Manager for Hollywood Bowl Rubery, said: “The centre is now fit for a local superstar, such as Millie who we were delighted could come and join us at our VIP relaunch night.
She is an inspiration and a talented ten pin bowler too!”
