THE INSPIRATIONAL Blind Dave will be heading to speak to the members of the Barnt Green Macular Society’s Support Group at the end of the month.
His ‘From Light to Dark’ talk from ‘the ordinary guy from West Bromwich’ will see Dave talk about his own experiences as a self-motivated blind person.
The event is at 2pm on May 31 at the Barnt Green Parish Centre, Sandhills Road (behind St Andrew’s Church). Admission is £2.
Prior to that there will be an Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) awareness event at Webbs Garden Centre in Hagley next Saturday, May 18, from 10am to 4pm.
AMD affects 600,000 people over the age of 60 with 200 people diagnosed each day. It is the leading cause of sight loss in the UK.
