RUBERY Drama Group will celebrate its 70th anniversary next week when it stages whodunit spoof ‘Inspector Drake’s Last Case’.
Bob Sawyer, one of the group’s founder members, is directing the piece by David Tristram.
Back in 2021, when the group last put on this play, Bob played lead Inspector Drake in the murder mystery comedy spoof.
The play centres on Drake who – not so ably assisted by Sergeant Plod – is tasked with solving the crime, interviewing a multitude of suspects – from a butler, gardener, guest and other colourful and confused characters.
Shows take place at 7.30pm on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, April 20 to 22, at the Beacon Church Centre, Whetty Lane.
Tickets are £8 (£7 concessions) and are available by calling 0121 453 8733, emailing [email protected] or via the Rubery Drama Facebook page.
