LOCAL police are warning residents of Romsley that they will be prosecuted if they are caught dumping rubbish in public spaces.

It comes after dozens of bin bags were discovered in and around Shut Mill Lane.

Bin bags were left on the side of the road and thrown over a barbed wire fence.

Abandoned deck chairs, paint cans and cool boxes were also discovered.

Police say they will increase patrols in the area.

Leader of Bromsgrove District Council, Karen May, said: “This is completely unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

“Please if you spot people dumping get their registration plate and the council and police will follow up on the information.”
