THE ANNUAL Rubery Festival drew in the crowds on Sunday, starting with a parade from the village’s memorial club to the arena in St Chad’s Park.

Despite an unfavourable weather forecast beforehand, the rain held off and plenty of fun was had by all.

Among the activities were children’s rides, street food and live entertainment from a variety of artists, including Lady and the Sax, the Bhangra Mashup and Anna from Frozen and Rapunzel, courtesy of Sapphire Entertainment.

There were also stalls from a variety of charities and community groups, including the Rubery Wombles, Wythall Animal Sanctuary, Rubery WI and Tracey’s Dream.

Other attractions included tombolas, face painting, pony rides and a classic car display, while Rubery Police gave out crime prevention advice and information.

Organiser Tony Maslen thanked everyone who attended to create such a fantastic atmosphere.
