BROMSGROVE Pride was hailed an ‘outstanding success’ as the LGBTQ+ community event returned for the town’s first ever street parade.
Dozens of shop frontages along the high street were awash with pride colours as the local community showed their support for the LGBTQ+ event held on Saturday July, 8.
Midlands singers and drag acts took the stage to entertain the crowds who flew pride flags and held signs which read ‘protect trans youth’, ‘born this way’ and ‘love comes in many colours’.
Following the parade, market stalls from local businesses sold goods, and charities and community organisations offered outreach support and guidance to attendees.
A spokesperson for Bromsgrove Pride said: “The event was an outstanding success. Onlookers were cheering as parade members were being out and proud of who they are.
“Despite the occasional showers, the community of Bromsgrove came out to create a great community vibe. We also had so much community support from local businesses.
“We would like to extend thanks to all of the hardworking committee members who have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to put on the event.
“We are excited to get started planning for next year, as we want to represent the diversity Bromsgrove has, and host a truly local Pride which is representative of our town and district.”
