FAMILIES enjoyed a winter wonderland at Millfields First School in Bromsgrove on Wednesday.
The festive event, now in its fourth year, was attended by 460 people who enjoyed the seasonal lights, illuminated inflatables, warming Swedish torches, a Nativity scene and visiting Father Christmas.

There were plenty of refreshments, including hot drinks, mulled wine, s’mores and hot dogs.

The Lantern Walk began in 2019 and, despite taking a forced break during the pandemic, has been growing more popular every year. Millfields has a flourishing forest school which was transformed into a festive fairyland for the night.

Poppy Dyer, seven, said: “It’s so good – I love it every year.”
Poppy’s mum Laura added: “We always look forward to this event and really enjoy it.
“It is a great way to kickstart our Christmas every year.”

Sarah Benfield, the school business manager, echoed her comments and added: “The feedback we get is always amazing and the staff really love volunteering their time to do it – most of them bring their own families along.”
