BLACKWELL Music Festival, which took place on Saturday, has been hailed a huge success with a sell-out crowd of 800 enjoying excellent weather and seven great bands.
Among the acts were Indigo Kid, The Strands, The Kazoos, The Bizz, Lucas D and the Groove Ghetto, The Precursors, and the well-respected local outfit The Weekend Anthems Band (formerly Killerstream).
Organisers claimed the event boasted the cheapest festival bar, along with food outlets, a children’s zone, circus skills, glitter face paints, a traditional bouncy castle and more.
The committee volunteers want to thank everyone involved and issued an invite for a repeat performance in 2024.
The success will provide enough funding to ensure the village’s annual summer festival next year is completely free of charge.
