HUNDREDS of people in Aston Fields have another line of defence against crime after receiving SmartWater kits.
County councillor Kyle Daisley, who handed out the free kits, said he has delivered on his election pledge of making sure residents ‘feel safe’.
With the help of West Mercia Police, the 23-year-old has delivered kits to 850 homes.
Police say SmartWater continue to be effective in tackling residential and business thefts.
Residents mark their valuables with the high-tech liquid which has an individual DNA code.
If items are stolen they can be returned to the rightful owner by checking them against a database.
“I am delivering on the promise that I made to residents,” said Coun Daisley.
“If I am re-elected in May, I will be looking to roll this scheme out in other areas of my division – especially Rock Hill, Stoke Heath and Charford.”
Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion added: “I am incredibly proud to be working with Kyle who is a passionate community leader, on bringing SmartWater to Aston Fields.”
