'HORRIFIC' - Two dead dogs dumped in Bromsgrove layby

Bromsgrove Editorial 22nd Sep, 2023   0

AN APPEAL has been launched after two dead dogs were ‘dumped like rubbish’ in Bromsgrove.

The plea for information has been made by Worcestershire Regulatory Services’ Animal Welfare Officer Pip Griffin following the grim discovery of the two lurchers – named Ashley and Laura – found in a layby.

Ms Griffin said there was no reason for their death as they were well-fed and had no open wounds.

An investigation has predicted the pair had been dead for around three days.

The male dog was rough-coated and the female had a distinctive docked tail.

‘Absolutely horrified’

Ms Griffin added: “I often think I have seen it all but then we discover something like this which absolutely horrifies me and makes me question who could do such a wicked thing?

“These beautiful creatures were abandoned like rubbish for seemingly no reason at all. It is a dreadful waste of two lovely dogs.

“If anyone recognises these dogs please get in touch because we want to do all we can to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”

The dogs were discovered this month.

Anyone with information on the dogs or how they came to be there should call the Worcestershire’s Dog Warden Service on 01905 822799.

People can also call that number to report cruelty or if they need help because of struggling with their own dog.
