A HOMELESS man was badly assaulted by two young men near to Rubery Co-Op this morning (September 9).
Police say the attackers followed up the beating by using an electrical stun device on the victim who has since been taken to hospital.
The incident happened at around 9am on New Road.
The suspects are believed to be in their early twenties, one of whom is white, of slim build and around five foot five.
He was wearing a black puffer jacket with a yellow zip.
The other man is described as black, of similar height and build, wearing a black jacket and grey jeans.
Police are appealing for witnesses to help identify two men who were captured on CCTV following the attack.
Sergeant Harjit Singh said: “I would like to reassure the local community that officers are investigating this terrible assault and carrying out enquiries in and around the town centre.
“We would ask the public to please call us as soon as possible on 101 if they can identify the men in the CCTV images.
“We would also like to hear from any witnesses.”
