THE 2022 Creative Art Showcase is heading to the Bromsgrove School Arena and Hospitality Suite, off Worcester Road, on October 28 and 29.

Showcase 22 will be the biggest event staged by the team yet, with more than 4,000sq m worth of exhibition, display and performance space and a weekend jam-packed with activities for all the family to enjoy.

Among those performing live will be pianist Milo, Got 2 Sing choir, soloist Helen Pearson, poet and writer Spoz, Vintage Class, the Rock Choir, Albierto Domingo acoustic and much more.

The pop-up performances will take place between the main art and craft workshops.

Creative’s project manager Claire Allington said the team had been warming up for this with smaller events throughout the year, including pARTy In The Park at Sanders Park and fun free community paints at Avoncroft Museum.

“The Showcase is our premier event, and we are excited to have so many lovely art and crafters, supporters and volunteers coming with us again, for a wonderfully creative journey.”

The group is dedicated to ensuring all sectors of the community are given opportunities to be creative and, with challenging times facing families this winter, people on income support or disability benefits can get free tickets.

Claire added: “We really hope this helps our hard-pressed communities to take a day out, relax and have a great time.”

In Speakers’ Corner, guests from partners the Worcestershire Wildlife Trust and the Woodland Trust will give interesting insights into what their groups do and their fund-raising activities.

And there will be talks about creativity and its positive impact on mental health from a variety of speakers, including stand-up performer and guitarist Matt McGuiness, fresh from a successful Edinburgh Festival show.

Nicola Winstanley from Creative Arts UK will head a team of judges for the Flora and Fauna exhibition, conceived, managed and curated by art graduates NaaShika and Camilla.

Other attractions include Our Earth Matters – the young creators online exhibition winners, free wellness taster sessions, craft workshops with make and take activities, a free creative zone, fun zone for adults and children and a community paint.

Creative Art Showcase 22 is part-funded by the National Lottery Community Fund, family-friendly and offers lots of fun, free activities.

CAS is run by volunteers. To find out more or get involved, email [email protected] or call 07818 830988.

Tickets are £4 on the day with more information and early bird tickets – available at creativeartshowcase.org – for £2.50.
