THE high street in Bromsgrove is due to be closed for 26 weeks in the eastbound direction to allow for improvements works to take place.
Works are due to start on the south end of Bromsgrove High Street from April 15.
The work, outside pedestrian areas, is being carried out by Worcestershire County Council in partnership with Bromsgrove District Council.
Improvements will be carried out on the eastern footway such as upgrading the paving to complement the rest of the High Street, new street trees, cycle parking, and benches will be introduced.
Drainage will be improved and ‘street clutter’ will be removed – the council says.
The works will lead to a one-way closure from Monday to Friday with the road closed to traffic in the eastbound direction for 26 weeks to allow the works to take place.
A diversion route will be in place.
