A HERITAGE STEAM locomotive is set to come back through Bromsgrove this evening (Saturday, April 6) when hauling an excursion from Norwich to Worcester Shrub Hill, writes Neil Gordon.
Steam locomotive number 44871, known as a Black 5, is working the Railway Touring Company’s ‘Worcester Steam Express.’
Passengers on the excursion are having around four hours’ leisure time in Worcester before the tour heads back to Norwich.
The train passed through Northfield, Bromsgrove and Droitwich earlier. It then works back through Droitwich at 4.47pm, Bromsgrove (platform 2) at 5.09pm and Northfield at 5.21pm.
A diesel locomotive is on the rear of the train which will enable the excursion to pass through Bromsgrove without stopping for banking assistance on its return journey.
As with all special workings through the area anybody going to see the train is reminded they are responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of those around them and not to trespass on the railway.
