A MULTITUDE of awards was given to the Hereford & Worcester Fire and Rescue Service (HWFRS) after they reaped success at the National Breathing Apparatus Challenge.
The competition, which took place at the Fire Service College in Moreton-in-Marsh, saw the Bromsgrove HWFRS team making history as they were the first in the service to win Best Overall Team.
Individual awards were also given to WC Lee Rudge for Best Incident Commander, Jordan Ahmed for Runner up ECO and Firefighters James Smith and Matthew Round for Runner-up BA Team.
Also competing was the Leominster HWFRS team, which was placed in the Gold Category.
The highly contested championships fielded 22 teams from around the country, testing firefighters on their ability to resolve complex operational scenarios with multiple persons involved, within a 30-minute time frame.
