THE Lickey Hills Society is urging people to get involved in this year’s Spring Litter Pick.

Every year, the society hosts two litter picks, in Spring and Autumn, to help the rangers keep the country park as clean and tidy as possible.

This year’s Spring event will take place on Saturday, March 23 with volunteers needing to meet at the Lickey Hills Visitor Centre on Warren Lane from 10am.

The society will be joined by volunteers from Lickey and Blackwell Parish Council residents as part of the Great British Spring Clean.

A spokesperson for the society said: “Thanks to the work of the paid litter pickers and the vast number of enthusiastic volunteers, amounts of litter in the Country Park are generally quite low but there is always work to be done.

“Past experience indicates that there is always litter to be found along roads that border the Country Park.”

The litter pick will finish at 12 noon. Gloves, litter pickers and sacks will be provided. Volunteers are advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear.

“Please join us for as long as you can manage,” added the Lickey Hills Society spokesperson.
