PEOPLE wanting to find out more about crown green bowls and have a go at the sport can go to an open day being held this Saturday, March 26.
The event – organised by the Rubery Sheldon John Connelly (RSJC) club – runs from 10am to 5pm behind the co-op in St Chad’s Park, New Road, where people can drop by and have a try.
The sport is a great way to make new friends, get some exercise and while away summer afternoons and evenings.
The club has families, couples, grandparents, parents and children as young as 11 playing.
Some like to practice on their own while others take part in the RSJC’s in-house competitions or play in a variety of leagues for all ages and abilities, including two over 60s teams.
The taster session is free, participants just need flat shoes.
Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
