HAGLEY and Rubery Police arrested two people for driving under the influence.
Both incidents happened in the early hours of the morning.
A man stopped on Newfield Road, Hagley, failed roadside tests. As well as being unfit to drive through drink and drugs, he was also held on suspicion of drug possession and going equipped to steal.
After being taken into custody, he was releases under investigation.
A woman was also stopped on Groveley Lane, Cofton Hackett. She failed a roadside drugs wipe test and was arrested and taken into custody.
Drink and drug-driving can seriously impair a person’s ability behind the wheel.
If convicted, the offences usually lead to driving bans.
They come under the ‘fatal four’ along with speeding, not wearing a seat belt and using a mobile phone at the wheel.
