THE LITTER-PICK held in Northfield yesterday was a great success.
A total of 85 bags of rubbish were collected from Frankley Lane, along with a fridge, nine Christmas trees, brake pads, coffee cups, a carpet and hundreds of beer cans.
Graham Andrews, spokesperson for the group, said: “Thanks to the Birmingham City Council waste team, and all the local residents who turned out.
“You all did a great job in the warm spring sunshine.
“We filled a lorry with rubbish.
“Thanks to all those motorists who patiently turned around and took the detour.
“Well done everyone.”
