THE GRANDMOTHER of a young Northfield gymnast is appealing for help in raising £1,600 so he can represent Great Britain in the World Championships in Russia next month.

Bailey Forbes, who is 10, has already had a successful year and his latest achievement came at the Trampoline, Tumbling and Double Mini Trampoline British Championships at Arena Birmingham last month.

Bailey took gold in the boys’ 11 to 12 Tumbling and is also competing in the England Championships in Sheffield this weekend.

His grandmother Marie Harris said they needed to raise around £1,600 for the trip to Russia and would be grateful for any sponsorship from individuals, groups, businesses or organisations.

“Bailey has had an amazing year of competing and is really excited about being picked for the Great Britain team,” she said.

“We are just hoping we can get the funds together so he can make the trip.”
