THERE was some good news for shoppers in Bromsgrove when popular store Card Party made a welcome return to the High Street.
The shop, which had been in the town for more than 20 years, suddenly shut on January 7 after its parent company Write Card Ltd went into liquidation.
Managing director John-Paul Banbury said: “It did not look good at the time – the footfall on the high street was down and we had no choice.”
Since then he has been working hard behind the scenes, talking to landlords and sorting out new leases and rents.
The company had 15 shops and now nine have re-opened, including Write Card in Redditch.
The Bromsgrove one reopened on February 10.
Mr Banbury added: “I have been amazed at the response since our return.
“We have all the same staff and they know a lot of the customers who are really pleased.
“We’ve made some changes to the company and it is looking a lot more positive for us now – the business is in a strong position and it’s great to be back on Bromsgrove High Street.”
