RESIDENTS can have their items fixed for free at the next Bromsgrove Repair Cafe.
The event takes place at All Saints Church Hall, Burcot Lane, from 2.30pm to 5.30pm tomorrow (Saturday, October 4).
The cafe features a group of experienced volunteer repairers who give their time as a community service to try to repair broken household items, saving them from the tip or the back of a dark cupboard.
The repairers can fix electrical and electronic items (PAT tested after repair to check their safety), mechanical items, tool sharpening, jewellery, clothing, stringed instruments, toys, turntables/audio equipment, wooden furniture and clocks. They can also repair bikes by appointment.
Whilst repairs do not cost anything, a small cash donation is always welcome to help cover costs and ensure the cafe can continue.
There are also low cost coffee, tea and cakes available for people to enjoy while they wait to see repairers and have their items fixed.
Free parking spaces are available on Burcot Lane near the church and there is a free car park behind the church hall on Shenstone Close.
The last entry for the repair cafe is 4.30pm and the next sessions will be on November 1 and December 6 – it always takes place on the first Saturday of the month.
