CONSERVATIVE Prospective Parliamentary Candidate Bradley Thomas has been out on the campaign trail, outlining what his party and he will do if elected.

Mr Thomas found out the general election after a day in the constituency’s rural areas, meeting with rural businesses in Romsley, having lunch with residents in Clent, talking to shop owners in Hagley and commuters in Wythall.

He said so far he had met so many local people, community groups, charities and businesses. I’ve supported businesses and residents in our towns and enjoyed meeting people throughout our beautiful villages.

Among the local priorities he has earmarked growing the economy to boost earnings and reduce taxes so people were better off, campaigning to secure investment in Bromsgrove town centre as it becomes a more vibrant residential, retail and social hub and supporting rural communities and villages so it could continue to thrive for residents of all ages.

He said he also wanted to deliver the best possible healthcare locally, would be campaigning for fresh NHS investment across all of Bromsgrove’s communities and ensuring children could access local schools, including those with special educational needs.

Others included protecting greenbelt and rural vistas whilst enhancing the environment, campaigning for infrastructure investment to ease traffic congestion and reduce speeding, particularly in rural areas.

Mr Thomas said he also wanted to make the area safer and more secure, focusing on crime and anti-social behaviour, pointing out there had been 330 new police officers across West Mercia since 2019.

He said his track record, having served as leader of Wychavon District Council for five years – one of the most successful councils in the country – had put him in good stead.

“Now, as your prospective Member of Parliament, I am committed to providing a strong voice both locally and in Westminster.”

Mr Thomas’ other activities have included meeting with the CEO of Kimal to hear about the skilled, well-paid jobs it supports locally, visiting residents in Barnt Green to discuss the greenbelt and meeting with residents in Bromsgrove town centre to discuss opportunities there.
