Fund-raising Zoom meeting for businesses with former Chancellor will raise funds for the Primrose

Bromsgrove Editorial 8th Jun, 2020   0

A VIRTUAL meeting with former Chancellor of the Exchequer and Bromsgrove MP will take place next week to raise funds for the Primrose Hospice.

The Zoom event, at 4pm on June 18, will enable businesses to ‘meet’ Sajid Javid and see much-needed cash generated for the hospice which has been hit hard by the Coronavirus pandemic.

Guests will have the opportunity to ask Mr Javid anything from local issues, the economy, business (or anything else!).

After the question and answer session, there will also be an opportunity to network with other businesses via breakout rooms.

Mr Javid said: “The Primrose Hospice continues to do provide fantastic care and support to residents during these challenging times.

“As a proud patron, I’m delighted to take part in this event.

“I’m looking forward to speaking with local businesses and helping to raise money for a great cause.”

All proceeds from the event will go to the charity which has continued to provide care and support to patients and bereaved adults and children during the lockdown.

The Primrose Hospice has seen an increase in demand for its services, particularly its family support and bereavement counselling.

At the same time, it has seen fund-raising events cancelled or postponed and has had to temporarily close its charity shops and pause traditional methods of raising money such as supermarket bucket collections.

Sally Insley, the Primrose Hospice’s fund-raising manager, said: “This is a rare opportunity for businesses to put forward their burning questions.

“Mr Javid has always been a fantastic guest speaker at our business lunches so I am sure the virtual event will be a really interesting experience.

“We would like to thank our patron Mr Javid for offering his time to fund-raise for Primrose Hospice and would urge you to book a place quickly to avoid disappointment.

“This will be one Zoom meeting you will not want to miss.”

People are asked to make a donation of their choice to the Primrose Hospice in return for booking their place.
