Dee Hirst from Creative said: “Isn’t it amazing when you get the chance to enjoy two free shows in one day, within a short walk from each other.

“Jo Slade has been amazingly helpful in supporting our efforts to bring art and creativity into all our communities, so from all of us at Creative Arts Showcase the youngest new charity to Friends of St John’s, possibly one of the oldest charities in Bromsgrove, a very big thank you.”

Jo, Chairman of Friends of St John’s, organiser of the St John’s Showcase day, added: “We are excited to be working in collaboration with the team at Creative Arts.

“Both organisations have benefited from the #RecoveryThroughCreativity grant scheme and as such our events are both taking place next Saturday.

“With Sanders Park and St John’s Church in such proximity we encourage people to call in to both events and enjoy the different activities at each location.

“We’re hoping for a clear day so that those who climb the tower will be able to see the activities in the park from the parapets.”

Both events funded by the Recovery through Creativity Grants Scheme, supported by Bromsgrove District Council and Greater Birmingham and Solihull LEP (GBSLEP), which aims to regenerate the local area following the pandemic.

They promise to be super family friendly and include lots of fun, free activities.

Anita Bhalla, Interim Chair, GBSLEP, said: “Coming out of the global pandemic, our Recovery through Creativity grants are supporting a wide variety of community projects which are bringing local people and businesses together.

“During the next few weeks, residents and visitors in North Worcestershire can expect to enjoy some fantastic activities that are being led by local creatives.

“This initiative demonstrates our ongoing commitment to the creative industries which GBSLEP sees as a catalyst for recovery and delivering inclusive economic growth across our region.”

The organisers have also announced the Creative Art Showcase 22 will be at Bromsgrove School Arena and Hospitality Suite on October 29 and 30.

People are also urged to watch out for more Creative fun popping up throughout the year in Bromsgrove and to come and join in.
