THE FULL programme of Bromsgrove District Council’s drop-in sessions for residents to learn more about the town future planning strategy has been released.

Bromsgrove District Council is holding public events to gather feedback on the Draft Development Strategy.

Following a council vote on June 19, the Draft Development Strategy Consultation for the Bromsgrove District Local Plan launched on June 30, offering residents 12 weeks to comment on where housing, employment, and infrastructure should be developed up to 2043.

Following the first session at Parkside on Thursday (July 17 – 4pm to 8pm), many more are planned in Alvechurch, Bromsgrove, Catshill, Hagley, Rubery and Wythall over the consultation period.

All the events will feature the same full information, regardless of location, with planners available to answer questions and provide materials, including reference copies of the consultation document.

The consultation runs until September 22.

Councillor Kit Taylor, portfolio holder for planning, said: “These consultation events offer a vital opportunity for the community to help shape the future of the district.

“The next Local Plan will guide development decisions through to 2043 and the Government requires us to plan for a lot more homes.

“There is of course a vast range of views about how to approach that.

“A starting point has now been laid out. It’s time to discuss that, and at these events you can get accurate, unbiased information so that you can respond to the issues that are important to you.”
