Free traditional Sunday roast and quiz at Bromsgrove care home to celebrate 'Silver Sunday'

SILVER Sunday – a national day of free fun and activities – will be celebrated at a Bromsgrove care home with a quiz and a traditional home-made roast dinner.

Older people from across the district and their family and friends are invited to the event from 11.30am to 3.30pm next Sunday, October 6, at the Heathbrook House on Worcester Road.

Silver Sunday aims to tackle the loneliness and isolation felt by many older people by providing social activities and by encouraging them to get out, try new things and meet new people.

It also celebrates the value and knowledge that they bring to our communities.

Simon Brown, Heathbrook House’s general manager, said he was delighted with the Silver Sunday line-up.

“We know loneliness is a growing issue for older people.

“This offers older members of our community somewhere they can enjoy a fun activity in the company of others. I know our residents are looking forward to welcoming some new faces on the day.”
