Free poetry books for National Poetry Day from Worcester Libraries

Bromsgrove Editorial 4th Oct, 2021   0

POETRY enthusiasts will be able to pick up five different anthologies for free from any of the six main Worcestershire Libraries, The Hive, Redditch, Bromsgrove, Evesham, Malvern and Kidderminster.

Visitors will be able to help themselves to these books from National Poetry Day on Thursday October 7th for one week.

The books are the result of four different free writing courses, run by The Word Association CIC in partnership with Worcestershire Libraries and funded by The National Lottery Community Fund.

The Word Association is a Worcestershire-based not for profit organisation with a focus on helping marginalised communities to celebrate their stories and get their voices heard.

Thanks to the support of The National Lottery Community Fund and in partnership with Worcestershire Libraries, their most recent project saw the facilitation of three mental health writing courses and two LGBTQ+ writing courses where four anthologies of work were produced.

The Word Association also produced an anthology featuring voices from across Worcestershire, including poems from Worcestershire Poet Laureate Ade Couper and Young Worcestershire Poet Laureate Faith Taylor.

These five anthologies were published by Bite Poetry Press and will be available for free from the six main Worcestershire Libraries.
