A FRANKLEY man was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after he was stabbed yesterday afternoon.

It has been reported that witnesses saw a group of teenagers wearing balaclavas and masks flee from the scene.

Police were called to Corriander Close just after 4.30pm where they cordoned off the area in front of a property and covered a van with tarpaulin.

The injured man was taken to hospital where he is said to be in a serious but stable condition.

A policewoman confirmed his injuries were not thought to be life threatening.

Inquiries are ongoing to establish how he came about his injuries.

Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
