Frankley man charged over vicious street assault and robbery in Birmingham city centre

A FRANKLEY man is one of three people charged over a violent street robbery in Birmingham City Centre last month.

Jermaine Williams, of Miranda Close, was charged with assault and robbery following the incident in Corporation Street around 6pm on June 28 where a man was continually attacked as he cowered on the floor.

The 40-year-old victim was robbed of his wallet and keys and left with nasty head injuries.

Officers from West Midlands Police appealed for information after releasing the footage.




Williams, who is 30, has been bailed with conditions after appearing before Birmingham Magistrates.

His next court appearance – at Birmingham Crown Court – will be on August 5.


Another man – Kristian Haines, aged 27 and of Uplands Road in Handsworth – was charged with assault and has been bailed with conditions to appear at Birmingham Crown Court on August 6 after appearing at Birmingham Magistrates Court last week.

Previously 19-year-old Ayham Yafai of no fixed address, was charged with assault and bailed after his appearance at Birmingham Magistrates Court on July 2. He is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court next month.

West Midlands Police are continuing to appeal for information and are urging anyone with any information to come forward.
