A GROUP of GCSE and A-level textiles students from South Bromsgrove High School visited clothing manufacturer Gymshark which was started by ex-pupil Ben Francis in his parents’ garage when he was just 19.
Since launching in 2012 the company has become the fastest growing company in the UK and the pupils were ‘blown away’ when they were shown around Gymshark’s new headquarters in Solihull.
Textiles teacher Jenny Hawthorn, who led the visit, said: “’The students really enjoyed the experience and were able to see, first-hand the entire design process and see how the gym wear was created’.”
Deputy headteacher James Siddle said: “It was great to see Ben doing so well and I couldn’t believe how many former students were working for Gymshark.
“The school is extremely proud of Ben’s achievements and we were very grateful that he was able to make time for us.”
Ben said the visit was something he would have appreciated when he was at school and invited the group to visit again when their next venture Gymshark Project X is up and running.
