First 'Charford Watch' meeting to take place this week

Bromsgrove Editorial 25th Jan, 2020   0

THE FIRST meeting of ‘Charford Watch’ – the area’s neighbourhood watch scheme – will take place at the Golden Lion at 7pm on Tuesday, January 28, writes Shivani Chaudhari.

People will be able to meet the new police officer looking after the area, PC Chris Burns, and discuss issues specifically affecting the area.

Coun Michael Thompson said: “The neighbourhood watch scheme, along with other community programs we have introduced, has created a real sense of ownership and responsibility.

“Residents have been proactive in working with partners such as the police and BDHT, and we are seeing the impact of our intervention.

“There is a long way to go but we have a clear message that we will not tolerate those who flout the law in our area.”
