FIREFIGHTERS extinguished a car blaze which had spread to a grass verge on the M5 between Bromsgrove and Rubery.
The incident happened around 4.30pm yesterday afternoon on the northbound stretch between Junction 4 and Junction 4A.
Fire crews from Bromsgrove and Redditch attended and found the blaze in the vehicle and the verge ‘well-alight’.
One lane was closed while firefighters put out the flames.
It was dealt with in around 30 minutes.
The incident led to five miles of congestion and delays of up to 25 minutes.
