Find out what the latest 2021 census reveals about Bromsgrove

FIGURES released this week from the 2021 Census reveal just 4.8 per cent of people in Bromsgrove were born outside the UK.

Of these figures, 1.5 per cent were born in other European countries, 0.7 per cent in Africa and 1.5 per cent in the Middle East and Asia.

Just 2.2 per cent of people in Bromsgrove have a non-UK passport and 13 per cent have no passport.

The statistics show the district is below the national average for the percentage of deprived households.




The data measured four dimensions of deprivation, employment, education, health and disability and housing, which included overcrowding, living in a shared dwelling, or the home having no central heating.

A total of 45.3 per cent of Bromsgrove households are in at least one area of deprivation, 6.3 per cent below the England average.


Of those, 32 per cent of households in the town are deprived in just one area, while 11 per cent are deprived in two, 2.1 per cent in three and 0.1 per cent are deprived in all four.

At 36.5 per cent, the highest number of people in Bromsgrove have two people living in each household, while 27.4 per cent in the district live on their own.

In addition, 16.5 per cent of households in Bromsgrove have three people living in them, while 14.4 per cent house four.

Just 5.3 per cent of houses in Bromsgrove have five or more people living together.

When it comes to relationships in those aged 16 or over, 51.5 per cent in Bromsgrove live together as an opposite-sex married or in a civil partnership couple, while 0.3 per cent are married or in a civil partnership and live together in a same-sex couple.
