Festive fund-raiser at food van in Rubery will help the homeless

FATHER Christmas, seasonal songs and fantastic fry-ups will be on the menu when a festive fund-raiser takes place in Rubery on Saturday, December 14.

Nick Husband who runs Nick’s Sandwich Bar in the lay-by on the A38 will be serving up breakfast baps for a donation between 9am and 3pm as part of the Christmas Jam @ the Van 3.

People will give a donation to the Birmingham-based Sunday Breakfast Club in return for their food.

Nick said: “This is the third year we have held the event and we usually get a good response, raising between £300 and £400.

“Because it is on for six hours, people can come down, drop in, have some festive fun and stay for as long as they like.”

The Sunday Breakfast Club is run by Angela Sheridan-Hunt Ash and delivers hot breakfasts to the homeless every Sunday.

Nick added: “Everything raised goes to providing the food for those who need it – it’s a fantastic organisation and we hope as many people as possible will come down and help this good cause tomorrow.”
