FEMALE goalkeepers are being sought by Bromsgrove Hockey Club.
The ‘Go For Goal’ project is on the hunt for goalie’s aged 13 and over to lead the team from the back.
Ladies third team captain Dawn Tomlinson, said: “We have four fantastic goal keepers in the ladies section at the moment.
“But with five teams this puts a lot of pressure on these women to play every weekend throughout the season.”
Goalkeepers often find themselves playing two games in one day to help out.
“We’d love to get a few more women and girls on board who are willing to give it a go.”
The five ladies teams are made up of players of all different ages, from 13 years-old all the way to aged 60.
Only four of the 70-80 women registered to play for the club play in goal.
Goalkeeper Anne Corbett, who has been playing for the club since last Christmas, said: “Putting on my goalkeeper’s kit gives me loads of confidence.
“You get a lot of respect as a goalie too.
“When I make a save the whole team congratulate me.”
