POLICE caught a man in a stolen and cloned car after a pursuit which ended in Frankley where it was found he had his two children in the car.
Officers spotted the Ford Fiesta in Selly Oak on Boxing Day and chased it, along with the National Police Air Service (NPAS) Midlands helicopter.
The driver drove dangerously for several minutes whilst being tracked and eventually decamped in Frankley where he was arrested.
Afterwards officers were astonished to discover his two children, aged five and seven, on board.
The children were uninjured and subsequently safeguarded by the police.
The driver has since been charged with multiple offences and remanded in custody.
Officers feom West Midlands Police Traffic unit described the incident as ‘shocking’.
