Fast acting police recover stolen Range Rover

Bromsgrove Editorial 2nd Jun, 2023   0

FAST acting police have recovered a vehicle stolen in Bromsgrove.

The grey Range Rover estate was stolen without keys on the evening of May 31, but police were able to recover it after the onboard tracker pinged its location on Bittel Road in Barnt Green.

The offenders used a device to grab and the clone the signal given off by the genuine key fob in order to trick the vehicle into thinking the fob was with it.

The thieves were then able to drive away in a matter of seconds.

Hagley and Rubery Safer Neighbourhood Team have advised owners of vehicles with key-less entry to consider purchasing a signal blocking pouch for their first and spare key fobs and to fit a steering lock to prevent thieves from operating your vehicle in the event they gain entry.
