A FAMILY fun day at Cofton Park on Sunday (May 7) organised by brain injury charity ‘Headway Birmingham and Solihull’ has been hailed a great success after raising £2,000 for the cause, reports Cameron Hill.

The event coincided with the beginning of National Brain Injury week which began on Sunday and runs until this Sunday (May 14).

The sun shone down and hundreds of people flocked to the event which had a myriad of attractions available, including a tombola, face-painting and welly-wanging.

The pony-rides and dog agility showcase also proved to be particularly popular.

A number of on-site food stalls also provided for hungry attendees such as a cake stand, barbecue and ice cream. That was so popular it ran out of flavors just as the day came to a close.

The cash raised will help Headway Birmingham and Solihull support those affected by brain injuries by providing rehabilitation, and adequate support for their family and carers.
