Events coming thick and fast during this years Bromsgrove Festival

THE EVENTS and activities are coming thick and fast now during this year’s Bromsgrove Festival.

This weekend sees the return of the Bromsgrove Folk Festival at the Bowling Green Inn in Stoke Prior which, running until Sunday, features a variety of artists and the ‘Sunday Funday’.

The Bromsgrove Summer School also runs from 10am to 4.30pm on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, July 12 to 14.




The event has been organised by the Bromsgrove Society and the day one course focuses on ‘Alvechurch – a Market Town’ with Prof Chris Dyer and Stephen Price.

Day two sheds light on ‘Grafton Manor and the Talbots’ with Jenny Townshend and on day three it will be ‘Redditch – Needle-Land’ with Julian Hunt.

The latest free Bands in the Park will see Blackwell Concert Band take to the Jubilee Bandstand in Sanders Park at 2.30pm on Sunday, July 10.

People are encouraged to take along picnics, blankets and chairs and enjoy the performance.

Richard Digance perfoms at Catshill Social Club at 8pm on Thursday, July 14, in an event organised by Bromsgrove Folk Club.

Another free Bite Sized Classics – light classical and modern music for young and old – will take place at 11am next Friday, July 16, at St Chad’s Church in Rubery. Email [email protected] for more.

The Rhythm of Life will be performed by the Midlands Sinfonia at St Laurence Church in Alvechurch at 7.30pm next Friday.

The programme will include Copland – Appalachian Spring, Saint-Saens – Carnival of the Animals, Clausen – Oh My Luve’s Like a Red Red Rose, Coleman and Fields – The Rhythm of Life and guest performers include The Oakville Singers.
